Background
In Anyang (Henan Province, China), a large-scale afforestation project aimed to green barren hills and restore the local ecosystem. The plan required sowing 5.5 tons of tree seeds across challenging mountainous terrain. Traditional manual methods would have been slow, labor-intensive, and costly, especially given the steep slopes and extensive coverage area. The local team needed a more efficient, precise, and safe solution.
Jinghong deployed the AG95 agricultural drone, designed for high-load crop and seed spraying operations. With a payload capacity of 120 kg per flight, the drone could carry large volumes of tree seeds at once. A total of 45 sorties were planned to complete the sowing task, ensuring both accuracy and efficiency across the rugged landscape.
In this project, the Jinghong AG95 agricultural drone played a vital role. Its GPS-guided autonomous flight ensured uniform distribution, enhancing seeding accuracy and increasing seed survival. The drone’s stability and endurance allowed it to operate smoothly over rugged hills. At the same time, remote operation kept workers safe from steep slopes and reduced labor intensity.
The project was completed successfully with 45 drone sorties, distributing all 5.5 tonnes of tree seeds across the target area. The use of drones reduced time and labor costs significantly compared to manual seeding. The sowing was uniform, efficient, and environmentally friendly, laying a solid foundation for the long-term reforestation of the barren hills in Anyang.
