Background

The Saixi Technology Building in Shenzhen has a façade covering 18,998.4 m². It comprises 17,879.4 m² of glass, 500 m² of metal panels, and 619 m² of stone cladding. The curtain wall extends 110 metres high. Manual inspections are slow, expensive, and pose risks. To address this, the project employed UAV full-coverage inspection alongside manual sampling checks.

The Jinghong LD491 patrol UAV conducted the inspection. Equipped with high-resolution cameras and planned flight routes, it scanned the façade thoroughly from top to bottom. It examined surface defects, support parts, connections, and functional components, establishing a systematic and standardised safety plan.
